For the film's second half, where dinosaurs are transported by boat to the mainland, Ecuador and Peru had both been scouted as possible filming locations and settings. Trevorrow suggested that the sequel would not involve a dinosaur theme park, as he felt future films could instead explore the idea of dinosaurs and humans co-existing. It’s a slow-burning tale of guilt, greed, and awakening, one that leaves behind a memorable trio of characters and the echoes of crashing waves. In the end, The Dreadful is far less about gothic horror spectacle and more about a woman clawing her way out of inherited fear. The third act admittedly grows sluggish, and it telegraphs one particular twist well before the characters catch up, draining some tension from what should be a devastating crescendo.

Review: Mike Flanagan's "Carrie" is the ideal version of Stephen King's story

In December 2017, a survey from Fandango indicated that Infinity War was the most anticipated film of 2018. Deadline Hollywood calculated the film's net profit as $500 million, accounting for production budgets, marketing, talent participations, and other costs; box office grosses and home media revenues placed it first on their list of 2018's "Most Valuable Blockbusters". With $140 million worldwide from IMAX, the film is the third-largest worldwide in the format, behind Avatar and The Force Awakens, and the largest for a Marvel film. Crossing the mark in 48 days, it was the second-fastest to that point, after Avatar's 47-day record and later the 11-day record of Endgame. On June 12, 2018, Infinity War passed the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the fourth film to cross that milestone after Avatar (2009), Titanic (1997), and The Force Awakens. The IMAX Enhanced version of the film was made available on Disney+ beginning on November 12, 2021.
